The inspiration from this series of paintings came from a couple of dreams I had. I dreamed about the jungle. Everywhere I looked I saw temples and stairs. The stairs where littered with garbage.
I was cleaning up the mess and I looked around and I saw I wasn’t the only one.
I started to paint this landscapes.
A couple of months later I was seated in a cinema, watching the movie Down to Earth.
It is a documentary about a family that travels around the world to live with indigenous people to learn their lessons about the earth. The lessons and uses that make us return to a healthy relationship with the planet. In the beginning of the movie a wise shaman tells the viewer about a dream he had.
It seems almost impossible but it was exactly the same dream as I had. The same dream I was trying to capture in painting. I sat at this movie theater, I was trembling, shaking, crying and laughing at the same time. It felt like every cel in my body was present, Like my whole being was finally awake. I will never forget this experience because it was the day I came out of the mist. I saw clearly.
We are the earth-keepers. We are cleaning up the mess. We have to. We are not alone in this.
I was born to live in this time. It is now, it is time. Learn More
